La Riunda Azienda Agricola
La Riunda, farm founded by Paolo Gatto Monticone, was born on the Alfieri Hills, bounded by the hilly areas of Monferrato, Roero and Langhe.
The tradition of cultivating hazelnuts, vineyards and orchards originates from his grandparents' generations and thanks to their teachings, Paolo completes the care and growth of his crops with great attention to nature, times and life cycles. With great dedication he continues this tradition by carefully cultivating hazelnuts and supporting principles that respect the surrounding environment.
The variety he cultivates is the Tonda Gentile Trilobata, suitable for making a niche product, which derives from the care and cultivation methods put in place to try to preserve as much as possible the original properties of taste and quality of the fruit. In this way a healthy product is obtained, which has not encountered pesticides or chemical products during its growth. The cultivated land is over 5 hectares and extends in the hamlets of the countryside of San Damiano d'Asti, in Piedmont.
Paolo and his family's desire is to put a quality product on the market, a hazelnut that is just hazelnut, wind, sun, rain and is a genuine final product, which tastes of Piedmont, of Hills and of Nature. From the cultivation of the Tonda Gentile Trilobata hazelnut, the Riunda farm obtains the most appreciated variants on the gourmet market: the simple toasted hazelnut, the hazelnut paste and the hazelnut and cocoa cream.
