Ceretto Vini

Ceretto Vini

The Ceretto family is one of the largest vineyard owners in Piedmont and produces excellent value wines.

The story of the Cerretto Aziende Vitivinicole (wineries), created in the 1930's in Alba, in Piedmontese Langhe, by Riccardo Ceretto, registered a turnover in the 1960's, when the sons of the founder, Bruno and Marcello, had a new idea, rather revolutionary at that time.

The idea was to stop buying the grapes and vinificate them, but start to select the historically best located vineyards, that use to product the best wine of the area: this is the so called "cru", the preservation of the bond between the earth and its fruit.

Nowadays the Ceretto family is one of the major vineyards owners of Piedmont, with more than 160 hectares of properties located mainly in the privileged areas of Langhe and Roero that includes the DOCG areas of Barolo and Barbaresco. The name Cerretto is synonym of attention, research and wines that express the true varied caracter of the grapes with pureness and elegance. The family owns four independent wineries, each one named after its specific geographical location: Bricco Rocche at Castiglione Falletto, where the Barolo cru are produced; Bricco Asili at Barbaresco, motherland of the Barbaresco cru; Tenuta Monsordo Bernardina at Alba, dedicated to the production of wines from the areas of Langhe and Roero; the Vignaioli of Santo Stefano and Santo Stefano Belbo, dedicated to the production of Moscato wines.

The Ceretto's were the first ones in Piedmont who invested in the image of their wine, commissioning the design of their bottles and labels to well known designers. With time, their attention went further and beyond, looking more and more towards the visual arts. It is then started a collaboration with artists and famous architects.
