Description

In the early 1500s a group of Franciscan friars, inspired by the colors and scents of the city of Nizza Monferrato, where their convent stood, invented the recipe for an infusion of herbs and spices with exotic names and mysterious properties.

Almost four centuries later the company of friars dissolved and the Convent was destined for other purposes: today the legend of their recipe for the infusion comes back to life in an Amaro Riserva which combines the homely taste of bitter and sweet orange peel with scent of distant lands of cinchona and cinnamon.

Paolo Berta was a creation of the founder of the Paolo Berta house who, thanks to his passion and experience, and to the union of the symbolic vines of Piedmont, Nebbiolo and Barbera, began to distil this grappa with a unique personality and to keep the best vintages.The pomaces, those coming from the most esteemed areas, are distilled separately with the traditional discontinuous method in copper steam boilers. Once distilled, they are assembled and left to rest for 20 years in barrels of different essences.
