Il Mondo di Linda (Linda's world)
Il Mondo di Linda is a project that was born from mum Viviana and dad Matteo, Linda's parents, and from her little brother Cesare. Linda is an eleven-year-old girl, born with Williams Syndrome (a rare multisystem genetic disease) which over time has been associated with a comorbid autism spectrum disorder.
The project, which you can learn more about on ilmondodilinda.it, is a collection of life, a portal full of ideas, projects, strategies, workshops, activities and inclusive teaching ... everything can be useful for parents who find themselves in the same complex situations as Viviana and Matteo, but not only, can be a useful tool for all families, teachers and educators.
The fundraising for "Il Mondo di Linda" serves to help Viviana and Matteo in sharing and disseminating their project. Shop Piemonte supports the collection by donating 5% of the cost of each customized “Linda's world” kit sold. These are periodically updated to give more choice to people who intend to support their cause and the spread of this project.
La Collina degli Elfi Onlus
The collaboration with La Collina degli Elfi Onlus of Govone has been going on since 2015.
The project of La Collina degli Elfi Onlus consists in hosting the families of children with cancer who have finished their therapies and are starting their recovery process. The goal is: to give moments of happiness, to regain a lost childhood, to go back to living the moments of everyday life.
To support this reality, every year Shop Piemonte donates 1 € for each Christmas basket sold, in this way we are able to support the hospitality of the families who stay at the Collina degli Elfi.
Shop Piemonte 4 Future: our Green Economy
The shed in which Shop Piemonte's warehouse and offices are located, uses photovoltaic panels to support a Green Economy that is becoming increasingly widespread. The self-produced electricity is then used to operate the heat pumps, all the office and warehouse equipment and the entire internal and external lighting system.
A great investment that of the company EDL - European Distribution Logistics, owner of the warehouse in question, which combines respect for nature, such as the separate collection and reuse of packaging and cartons for shipping, the use of renewable energy, such as the choice of using heat pumps that do not release the fumes deriving from combustion into the environment.
On a daily basis, the Shop Piemonte team also participates in helping the planet, in fact, it has drawn up a list of best practices that it implements on a daily basis. From the elimination of plastic bottles to the use of paper cups for coffee to many other small things that gradually allow to be more sustainable!
