Birrificio Metzger 1848

Birrificio Metzger 1848

The rebirth of a brand, revitalizing its image with a product inspired by the quality beer of yesteryear!

In 1848, it was the Alsatian Karl Metzger, who opened his first brewery and brought his original recipe to Italy. Metzger's product, still so little known in 19th century Italy, was, at the time, described to the public as a 'thirst-quenching, nutritious bitter liquid with a special flavour'.

Karl's son, Franz Joseph, gave new impetus to the company, innovating it and winning the brand a diploma at the Grand Prix of Beer in 1871 and a gold medal at the Esposizione dell'Industria Italiana in 1898.
Today, forty years later, in a Turin cultural and food-and-wine capital geared towards international tourism, the Metzger brand is reborn to revitalize its image with a product inspired by the quality beer it once brewed.

A classic lager beer with a 'modestly bitter' taste sure not to betray the expectations of the most sophisticated palates in Turin and beyond.
